Description
Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatrics / Pediatric
Location: Abilene, TX 79601
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); every other weekend required
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience; at least 2 years in the service line required for compliance
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Travel experience required
- Certifications: BLS and PALS required; OCN preferred
- License: Active RN license required at submission
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Float Requirement: Must float to NICU and potentially other floors/campuses
- Distance Requirement: Must live 150+ miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Charting: Allscripts; Altera experience preferred
Description:
Hendrick Medical Center is seeking an experienced Pediatric Med-Surg RN to provide nursing care to pediatric patients in a 23-bed unit. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, central-line care, pediatric dosage calculations, respiratory care, seizure management, wound care, and monitoring patient conditions. The nurse must be flexible to float to the NICU and potentially other units or campuses. Candidates must be comfortable with a 1:4 patient ratio and working night shifts.
