Join Adventist Health Sierra Vista on California’s beautiful Central Coast for a 13-week Endoscopy nursing assignment. This role offers the opportunity to support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a community acute care hospital.

✨ Assignment Highlights

• 13-week contract
• Day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Rotating shift schedule
• 1 year of GI experience required
• Focus on endoscopy, bronchoscopy, EUS, and EBUS procedures
• Patient monitoring during procedures and post-sedation recovery
• Acute care hospital setting

🩺 Your Role

• Assist physicians and advanced providers during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Monitor patients during procedures and recognize changes in physiological or psychological status.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure assessments and follow sedation protocols.
• Monitor recovery following sedation and evaluate discharge readiness.
• Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up guidance.
• Prepare, set up, clean, and handle endoscopy equipment and supplies appropriately.
• Recognize procedure-related complications and implement appropriate interventions under the endoscopist’s direction.
• Review medical histories, complete patient assessments, and maintain accurate nursing documentation.
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards.

✅ Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Associate degree (AA or AS) or equivalent required education as specified by the facility.
• Minimum 1 year of GI experience.
• BLS certification from an approved provider.
• ACLS certification through AHA or ALS certification through ARC, as accepted by the facility.
• Knowledge of endoscopy procedures, patient monitoring, sedation recovery, and post-procedure complications.

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience with bronchoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).
• Experience with moderate sedation, patient recovery, and endoscopy equipment handling.
