Description:

Role works with Bronchoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) procedures. Monitors patient during procedure with recognition of alteration in physiological and psychological status of patient. Recovery of patient post sedation. Utillizes knowledge of post procedure complications and discharge criteria. Ability to provide patient clear and concise follow up instructions at time of discharge. Demonstrates understanding and interpretation of diagnostic measures such as lab tests, radiology exams, and EKG interpretation. Utilizes professional nursing judgment, takes action to implement the nursing care plan and resolve the problems identified for the individual patient. Knowledgeable about equipment and supplies used for procedures, including proper cleaning and handling. Practices infection control techniques. This position is represented by CNA.

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate Degree(A.A. or A.S.): Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: Preferred
• One year GI experience: Required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current RN license in state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS)?certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular?Life Support (ACLS)?certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required
