Job Breakdown – CT Technologist (CT Tech)

 Facility: VCU Health (Virginia Commonwealth University Health System)

 Location: Richmond, Virginia

 Schedule: Day shift, 4×10-hour shifts Timings: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

1. Job Overview

• Position: CT Technologist
• Minimum Experience: 2 years listed; additional notes say minimum 1 year. Prioritize candidates with 2+ years of CT experience.
• Certifications: ARRT (R), ARRT (R)(CT), BLS
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Equipment: Siemens CT experience required
• Trauma Experience: Level I trauma experience required
• Local Candidates: Accepted at the same base rate
• Travel Experience: Not clearly specified as mandatory

2. Required Skills

• Siemens CT scanner experience, preferably 2+ years
• Recent Siemens experience — candidates should not have been away from Siemens for more than one year
• Epic charting experience
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (R)(CT)
• BLS certification
• CT imaging for:
  • Head, brain perfusion, chest, abdomen, pelvis and spine
  • Vascular CTA and transplant studies
  • CT arthrography and virtual colonography
  • Emergency department and inpatient imaging
• Contrast administration and peripheral IV starts
• Adult and pediatric acute care experience

3. Schedule & Department Details

• Shift: Days, 4×10 hours
• Time: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Department: Downtown CT location
• Patient Setting: Combination of ED and inpatient CT
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics
• Orientation: Two weeks of training and workflow support
• Floating: Candidates may float within their scope if needed
• Pre-approved time off: One request may be submitted for manager approval; no time off during the first week of the assignment.

4. Facility & Compliance Notes

• License: Virginia or compact-state license must be active and in hand at submission, as specified in the posting.
• References: Two required.
• Submission Details: SSN, DOB, address, phone number, email and RTO must be included at submission. Handle sensitive information through approved secure channels.
• Background: Facility reviews background hits.
• Return Staff Policy: Must be separated from VCU for at least one year before returning as a traveler.
• Modules: Approximately 6 hours of non-billable orientation modules.
• Nail Policy: Natural nails required.
• Vaccines: COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine status unknown.
• BSN: Listed as preferred, but confirm whether this applies to CT Technologists.
