CT Technologist – Night Shift Contract
 

Location: IU Health West Hospital – Avon, IN
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday, Thursday, and Friday nights | 5:30 PM–6:00 AM
Start Date: As soon as possible with flexibility
 

IU Health West Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist for a 13-week night shift assignment in Avon, Indiana. This role performs diagnostic CT imaging while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and effective communication with the care team.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment and prepare, screen, and position patients for imaging.
• Obtain IV access and administer contrast as required, recognizing and responding to adverse reactions.
• Select appropriate scan protocols and adjust parameters to produce diagnostic-quality images.
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to address clinical concerns.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and perform routine equipment quality checks.
• Document necessary information in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with medical alerts and minimally invasive procedures as needed.
• Explain procedures and communicate effectively with patients, families, and care team members.

Qualifications

• Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credential.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Relevant experience within the stated 0–3-year range.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and adapt patient positioning when routine positioning is not possible.
• Knowledge of CT protocols, contrast administration, and radiation safety.
