Travel RN – Long-Term Care (LTC)
Location: Seward, Alaska
Facility: Providence Seward Mountain Haven

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 or 26 weeks (traveler's choice)
• Shift: 4x12-hour shifts, variable
• Shift Type: Days or nights, based on facility needs at the time of start
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 1:20
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of LTC nursing experience
• Previous Travel Experience: Required
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
• Alaska RN License: Must be active and in hand; pending licenses are not accepted
• Required Certification: BLS
• On-Call: No
• Floating: Yes, within scope of practice
• Local Candidates: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility

• Oxygen administration and respiratory treatments
• IV therapy, medication administration, and peripheral line care
• Isolation precautions and PPE
• Accuchecks and implanted glucose sensors
• PEG/G-tube feedings
• Duopa pump management
• PRN IV hydration
• Phlebotomy and lab draws
• Wound care
• Subcutaneous peritoneal dialysis

• Dementia and Alzheimer's disease
• Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
• Paralysis and other physical impairments
• Cognitive impairments
• Other conditions requiring long-term care

• Transportation: Shuttle transportation arranged by the facility to and from Anchorage at the beginning and end of the contract. A local shuttle is also available in Seward.

Schedule & Time-Off Requirements:

• No more than 1 week of RTO for a 13-week contract.
• No more than 2 weeks of RTO for a 26-week contract.
• All RTO requests must be submitted with the application. Requests after an offer or contract signing will not be considered.
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
• Block scheduling is not available.
• Caregivers generally work either days or nights, without rotating between shifts. Occasional exceptions may occur due to urgent staffing needs.
• Travelers may be called off for one 12-hour shift per two-week period.

Additional Requirement:

• Alaska Food Worker Certification is required. The certification will be completed during on-site orientation, with a one-time $10 fee.

Important: Candidates must have previous travel nursing experience, an Alaska RN license in hand, and the required LTC skills and experience to be considered.
