CT Technologist – VA Portland Health Care System:

Job Summary:

The CT Technologist performs computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. The technologist is responsible for operating CT equipment, positioning patients, following radiation safety protocols, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform CT scans according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
• Operate CT scanners and ensure proper image quality.
• Administer contrast agents when authorized and required.
• Follow radiation safety standards and patient care protocols.
• Review images for quality and completeness before submission.
• Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain equipment and follow infection control procedures.

Qualifications:

• Relevant education in Radiologic Technology or an equivalent accredited program.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and/or Computed Tomography (CT), as required by the facility.
• Current state license, if applicable.
• Current BLS certification, if required.
• Previous CT imaging experience preferred.
