Description
Position: Temporary Registered Nurse (subject to DOL approval)
Contract Length: 35 days, with an option to extend
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Location: Oneonta NY
Required Qualifications:
- NY State RN License and AHA BLS.
- Auto Insurance and Malpractice insurance
Duties:
- Participate in the medical examination of students.
- Specimen (blood and urine) collection as needed (phlebotomy).
- Screen patients and refer them to Center Physician, Health and Wellness Manager and/or the Center Mental Health. Observe, records and reports patients' vital signs, symptoms and behavior.
- Perform first aid treatment as needed.
- Assist the physician with the patient examination; prepare patients for tests and the examination.
- Provide guidance for students in matters of personal hygiene.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications as directed.
- Maintain medical equipment and inventory of supplies and medications.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Promote projects that support health and safety throughout the Center.
