Position Overview
The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to patients with a variety of cardiopulmonary conditions. The RRT collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team to assess respiratory status, deliver prescribed treatments, monitor patient responses, and support quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' respiratory status and provide appropriate respiratory treatments.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other prescribed respiratory interventions.
- Monitor respiratory function and communicate changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
- Assist with respiratory equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Document treatments, assessments, and patient responses accurately.
- Follow infection prevention protocols and established patient safety standards.
Must-Have Credentials
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Appropriate Massachusetts licensure for respiratory therapy practice.
- Relevant clinical experience in respiratory care.
