Description

The CT Scan Technologist produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as ordered by a physician. These cross-sectional images provide detailed information about soft tissues, blood vessels, and bones, which are essential for accurate diagnostics. The CT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns. The CT Technologist also performs a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of CT scans.

Position/unit Details:
Staffing Ratios:

Days 1: no ratio – 3-6 technologists per dayshift

Nights 1: no ratio – 1 nightshift technologist

Weekends 1: no ratio – 2-3 weekend technologists

Schedule Requirements:

Call Required: Yes, part of the rotation with the team, weekend call shifts

Float Required: No

Weekend Coverage:Yes, On call, and depends on shift hired for

Scheduling Type: Self; Supervisor / Lead Tech makes schedule

Unit Systems:

Documentation System: Epic & Mach7 PACS

Support: IV Teams: Yes,

Dayshift Lift Teams: No, but Imaging team or ED team can help

Pharmacy: Yes, 24/7

Phlebotomy: Yes, 24/7

Transportation: Yes, varying shifts

Unit Secretary: Yes, Department Patient Registration

Provider Coverage: Intensivist: Yes, 24/7

Hospitalist: Yes, 24/7

Additional Unit Information:

Equipment: Siemens CT scanners Special Procedures: Biopsy, drainage, etc.

Shift Cancellation Policy:

4 shifts/13 weeks

Requirements:

- 2 years of recent CT Tech experience

- Oregon Board of Medical Imaging Certification
- Can be obtained after receiving an offer

- ARRT Certification

- BLS
