• License: Active California RN license required in hand
• Local Restriction: Candidates living within 150 miles are not accepted
• Floating: Required across critical care areas
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required; medical or religious exemptions only

Job Responsibilities

The Rapid Response RN responds to medical emergencies throughout the hospital and helps stabilize critically ill patients.

• Respond to Code Blue, Rapid Response Team (RRT), sepsis, trauma, and stroke alerts.
• Assess patients experiencing sudden deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Coordinate emergency care with bedside nurses, physicians, intensivists, and other departments.
• Assist with patient transfers to higher levels of care, including ICU.
• Support ICU, CVICU, ED, and other critical care areas as needed.
• Communicate critical patient information using SBAR.
• Participate in staff education, mock codes, debriefings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• California RN license in hand.
• BLS and ACLS.
• NIHSS stroke certification from the American Stroke Association.
• Kaweah Health-approved crisis intervention training.
• CCRN certification from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
• Strong critical care knowledge and experience managing emergencies.
