Provider coverage: NP (present, not in-house 24/7), hospitalist (present, not in-house 24/7). Work settings required: Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele, Telemetry. Required skills - Cardiac monitoring: interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry - on the unit monitoring, use of rapid response/code teams. Endocrine: IV insulin protocols. Gastrointestinal: feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/renal: renal failure. IV therapy/phlebotomy: blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs. Medications: heparin protocols, manage cardiac drips (no titration), manage vasoactive drips (no titration). Neurological/psychiatric: CVA (cerebrovascular accident), seizure disorders, substance withdrawal. Respiratory: BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks. Professional: isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac. Documentation: electronic documentation preferred (Cerner). Preferred skills: pacemakers (temporary/permanent), titration of insulin drips, accessing/managing ports, PCA, surgical drains, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), tracheostomy care/management, previous charge experience.
