Job Description

• Unit Description: Transitional Care Unit
• Weekend Requirement: Every other or two per month
• Patient Ratio: 1:8-10 (float required)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS-AHA (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• EKG Testing: Must pass before start date (required for all Medsurg nurses)

Additional Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• State License Verification
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• NIH Stroke Certification

Health Requirements

• Physical Exam: Must be completed within 45 days of start.
• Negative TB Test: Proof required within a year of start.
• Vaccinations:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Flu Vaccine (required for specific start dates)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (two doses required)

Background Check

• Must be completed within 45 days of start and updated annually.

References

• Two supervisory references required, completed within the last three years.
