Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: Evening (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM), Monday - Friday
• On-call: Required (5-6 shifts in 6 weeks)
• Schedule: Day off varies, no weekend requirement
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
• Scrubbing: Preferred (basic scrubbing skills beneficial)
• Cases: General, gynecology, some plastics, robotics (usually 1 daily), ortho (1 day/week), vascular (afternoon cases)
• First-timers: Accepted
• Locals: Accepted
• Pending State License: Not accepted

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
• Years of Experience: 3 years preferred (2-3 years required)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working in an Acute Care setting

• Beds: 178 staffed beds
• Charting System: Cerner
• Parking: Free in South Parking Garage
• Smoke/Nicotine Policy: Strict no-tobacco policy; no nicotine use allowed (including vaping, gum, patches)
• Scrub Color: Provided

Additional Notes

• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documentation and credentialing requirements prior to start.
• Candidates must be nicotine-free for at least 90 days before start.
• Candidates must be able to scrub and assist in general, gynecology, plastics, robotics, ortho, and vascular cases as described.
• Facility does not accommodate floating outside the OR specialty.
