PACU

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Portland, Oregon.
• Shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 3 days per week.
• No weekends or holidays.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Department / Setting

• PACU experience is needed.
• The department cares for patients from Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Gastrointestinal/Endoscopy procedures.
• The unit recovers patients after moderate procedural sedation and general anesthesia recovery.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oregon.
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience).
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience in a Critical Care or Emergency Department or Procedural Area setting.
• Experience with Epic.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS required prior to first day of work.
• Valid government-issued photo ID required on the first day to obtain badge.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience with arterial and venous femoral access, sheath removal, and management.
• Knowledge or experience with anesthesia recovery (Phase I/II).
• Knowledge or experience with TEE, Cardioversion, and BMBx procedures.
• Experience on a Shared Governance council or committee.
• Experience as a Charge RN in ICU, PACU, ED, or a Procedural Unit.
• CAPA, CPAN, or CCRN certification preferred.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, independent problem-solving, and time management are emphasized in the role.
