Respiratory Therapist, NICU

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Akron, Ohio
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-week contract
  • Floating may be required to other facilities

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU (2 years of experience)
  • Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • Experience working with Adult or Pediatric patients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 3 and Level 4 NICU experience preferred

  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • 7-year criminal background check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
  • HHS/OIG check
  • Education verification or diploma/transcript
  • Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprint results
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • State license verification
  • Competency exam
  • Core Part I, II, and III
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
  • Unit-specific skills checklist
  • Two positive professional references
  • Employment application with 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting and in a similar area
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Tdap within 10 years of start
  • TB screening or chest X-ray
  • TB questionnaire
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or documentation
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption during flu season
  • Computer security agreement
  • HIPAA/confidentiality statement
  • HIPAA privacy training
  • Non-employee personal information form within 72 hours of signed contract
  • Staff badge form
  • Fingerprint clearance attestation
  • Skills checklist
  • Annual updates required for several compliance items
