Unit Overview
- Acute leukemia and hematology inpatient unit
- Cares for adults and geriatrics
- Primarily treats newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Oncology experience within the last year
- 2 years of oncology experience
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- ONS/ONCC
Required Certifications
- NIHSS
Required Skills
- MS/telemetry
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Rapid response team use
- Feeding tube care and management
- IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Blood product administration
- Central line blood draws
- Peripheral line care and management
- PICC line management
- Starting IVs
Clinical Focus
- Infection prevention
- Fall prevention
Additional Notes
- No set or blocked scheduling
- Weekend coverage varies based on unit needs
- Goal staffing ratio is 1:4, with possible assignment up to 1:5
