Medical Surgical Nurse
Overview
- Location: Nashville, Tennessee
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekly hours: 36
- Contract length: 16 weeks
Role Highlights
- Float to other medical-surgical/telemetry units, including forensics and inpatient units
- Must be comfortable working with the prison population
- Locals and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate
- Contracts starting in September are expected to extend into the new year for holiday coverage
- Holiday rotation includes working 3 of 6 specified holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- 1 year of Med Surg experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- CPI or MAB
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- SANE / Forensic experience

- Proof of E-Verify or attestation
- 2 clinical references
- Background check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Physical exam
- Fit mask testing
- Tdap
- TB screening or chest X-ray
- Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/vaccination documentation
- Drug screen
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption
- COVID vaccination or approved exemption
- Pass/fail testing and competency exams
- Facility orientation and compliance documents prior to start
