Operating Room RN Travel Contract

Overview

Specialty: Registered Nurse
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 8 weeks
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
Hours: 40 per week

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Tennessee
OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Ability to circulate in the operating room
Ability to perform total joint procedures
Ability to float to other units

Schedule Details

Call required: 4–6 weeknights and 1 weekend call shift every approximately 6 weeks
Holiday rotation required
Bi-weekly orientations

Additional Notes

RTO is not approved at booking and must be discussed with managers during the assignment
Local candidates within 75 miles are paid less than travelers
EKG competency exam is required within 12 months of start for RNs
Color blind testing is required within 12 months prior to start for all candidates
Core competency exams are required for all candidates
Two supervisory references are required
A unit-specific skills checklist from the last year is required
A background check, drug screen, TB documentation, flu documentation, physical exam, and immunization records are required before start
