Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse
Location: Columbus, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Interventional Radiology)
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Patient Population: Pediatrics through Geriatrics
- Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Average Daily Census: 25 patients, 4 procedure rooms
- Scrub color provided by facility
- Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call: Rotated among team members
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend (maximum 2 per month)
- Holiday Requirement: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology nursing experience within the last year
- Stroke experience, including stroke thrombectomy
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse license valid in Georgia
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week start delay due to orientation scheduling
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
- Locals accepted at the same rate
Orientation & Competency Requirements
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment, 19 hours for 19-week assignment)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (3 attempts allowed; failure on 3rd attempt results in cancellation)
- Color blindness test required (alternative assessment available for blood collection tasks)
- General competency exam required
Background & Health Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days prior to start, including:
- County and nationwide criminal searches
- Sex offender registry check
- Education verification of related degree
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive TB test)
- Annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug test within 60 days prior to start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster plan if needed
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster plan if needed
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (required during flu season)
- Tdap vaccine highly recommended but not required
Documentation & Other Requirements
- Two clinical references required
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
- Skills checklist updated within the last 12 months
- Candidate must review and sign facility’s Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
