Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Outpatient

Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Job Description

Provide assessment, planning, organization, and participation in rehabilitative programs aimed at building or restoring vocational, homemaking, daily living skills, and general independence for persons with disabilities or developmental delays.
Gain patient and family cooperation through competent assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety.
Provide clinical supervision of assistants and aides.
Serve as a clinical instructor for assigned students.
Must be open to travel to patient homes as needed for home assessments and visits.

Required Qualifications

Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Certifications & Compliance

Background check including 7-year history, motor vehicle report, sex offender search, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
Education verification (highest level achieved).
Physical exam within 1 year of start.
Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually.
Immunizations and health screenings required:
- TB screening (annual renewal).
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination.
- Varicella immunity or vaccination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30).
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
Respiratory safety clearance (not required for this role unless specified).
Other certifications as applicable per position and facility requirements.

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

Full 7 years of work history with no gaps in employment longer than 30 days.
Unit-specific skills checklist (renewed annually).
Professional license verification within 30 days of start.
Review and sign facility-specific documents including:
- Job description
- Standards of business conduct
- Code of conduct
- Vendor training
- Overpayment refund policy
- Regulatory orientation
- Conditional offer of employment attestation
TB questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider within 90 days of start.
Personal auto insurance must be valid for the duration of the assignment.

Additional Notes

Candidates must be willing to travel to patient homes as part of the role.
Clinical supervision and student instruction responsibilities are part of the job.
Compliance with all facility and state-specific background and health screening requirements is mandatory.
Religious and medical exemptions for certain immunizations and fit testing may be considered on a case-by-case basis with appropriate documentation.
