Registered Nurse – ER (Travel/Contract)

Location: Salina, Kansas
Contract Length: 6 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Start Date: ASAP
Unit Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Radius Restriction: Must live within 100 miles (mileage reviewed upon submission)
First Time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel assignment
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Certifications:
- ACLS (issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- BLS (issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- PALS
- TNCC
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience with MEDITECH electronic medical record system
Clinical skills including:
- Central line care and management
- Continuous IV sedation
- IV vasopressors
- CPAP/BiPAP management
- Care of ventilated patients

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
Proof of E-Verify or attestation required
Background checks:
- 7-year criminal history check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- FACIS Level III screening within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
Education verification or proof of highest degree earned
Nursys verification required for all RNs
Physical exam within last 12 months, signed by MD, DO, PA, or ARNP confirming ability to perform essential job functions
N95 Fit Test within 12 months (can be completed onsite during orientation if needed)
Drug screening:
- 10-panel drug screen including marijuana within 60 days of start (SAMHSA certified, reviewed by MRO)
Immunizations and Titers:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (or documentation if previously positive)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer within 10 years or completed 2-dose MMR series (boosters required if non-immune)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, completed 3-dose series, or declination form
- Varicella: Positive titer or completed 2-dose vaccine series
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); mask required if declined
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted
References: Two professional references within 2 years required
Completion of facility-specific Healthstream modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
