Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Los Angeles, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; primarily Sunday, Monday, Tuesday nights plus one Saturday per month)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Position involves inpatient acute care setting.
• Must be proficient in abdominal general, OB/Gyn, vascular ultrasound exams.
• Experience with pediatric ultrasound required.
• First 2 days of onboarding: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; subsequent training includes evening shifts.
• Scrubs color: brown or tan.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Certifications required:

  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience working with pediatric patients.
• Experience as an OB/Gyn Sonographer.
• Experience as a Vascular Sonographer.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Current and valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID.
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • Social Security Trace
  • 7-year National Criminal History Search (county searches)
  • National Sex Offender Search
  • FACIS Level 3 (includes OFAC)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG searches required annually.
• Education verification required (diploma or official transcripts acceptable).
• Drug testing:

  • 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (specific to this facility).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Negative QGold TB test within 1 year (TSPOTs and PPDs not accepted).
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: positive titer within 2 years required (boosters not accepted).
  • Hepatitis B: positive titer or signed declination within 1 year.
  • Varicella: positive titer within 2 years required (boosters not accepted).
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required annually (or signed declination).
  • COVID vaccine: 1 dose of Pfizer/Moderna monovalent or 2 doses Novavax administered on or after 9/12/2023, or signed declination.

• Completion of multiple mandatory online training modules and signed agreements prior to start, including:

  • HIPAA Privacy and Information Security Training
  • OSHA Annual Education Training
  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Elder, Child, and Domestic Abuse Reporting Acknowledgments
  • Facility-specific onboarding documents and job description acknowledgment
• Photo for badge required within 72 hours of signing.
• Access request forms and other facility-specific paperwork due within 72 hours of signing.
• Facility-specific latex questionnaire required for this department.
• Pyxis form completion required for RNs and RRTs (not applicable here).
• Flu vaccine declination form required if opting out.
• Wage Benefit Parity form required pre-start for clinical candidates.
• Drug screen results must be current and uploaded as per facility policy.

References and Employment History

• Two professional references required; at least one must be from the past year and at supervisor level or above.
