Job Opportunity: RRT Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position requires floating to other units as needed.
- Prefer candidates with close to 2 years of experience in the specialty.
- Must provide 2 supervisory references (charge nurses count as only one reference).
- Night shift schedule with 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio.
- Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience.
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience.
- NBRC certification.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including a 7-year county search and education verification.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start and must be updated for each new contract.
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
- Sex offender, nurse aide, inmate, Medicaid exemption, and abuse registry searches required within 30 days of start.
- Official transcript required if education verification is incomplete.
- Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Affiliating Health Record must be completed and address must match ID and employment application exactly.
- Infection Control Policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Fit mask (N95) testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually; onsite testing allowed if prior testing is not completed.
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
- Resume or employment application copy required.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA certification only.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certification only.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA certification only.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA/AAP certification required.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable.
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – as applicable.
- National technical certification verification required within 30 days of start.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start (must be completed after age 11).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within the last year; specific protocols for positive TB results.
- Annual TB questionnaire required.
- Flu vaccine required between October 31 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer required.
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella immunization or titers required with booster protocols if titers are negative or equivocal.
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start (agency standard).
- Fit testing for N95 masks required annually; specific mask models accepted.
- Drug screening must include amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, marijuana, methadone, phencyclidine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

- Legal name on all documents must match exactly (no nicknames or aliases).
- Ohio driver’s license holders with an address within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may not qualify for travel status.
- Fingerprinting results can pend at start if facility completes onsite fingerprinting.
