Job Opportunity: RRT Pediatrics (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)

Location: Burlington, Vermont

Contract Length: 26 weeks

Job Description

• Assignment duration: 16-32 weeks (this contract is 26 weeks)
• Work setting: Inpatient ICU/Adult Care, PICU/Pediatric Care, and NICU Level III
• Schedule: Weekends as needed, no call, schedule flexibility required
• Many RT-driven protocols involved
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory
• No block schedules allowed
• Must document all specialties worked on each employment entry
• Reliable transportation required (public transportation not accessible)
• Vehicle should have all-season or snow tires from November to April

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Vermont
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Adult, Neonate, and Pediatric patients, including Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience with Epic EMR

Licensure

• Current, valid RRT license required

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification required based on job
• National tech certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as required
• Color blind testing required
• Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent form required
• COVID-19 vaccination attestation and questionnaire required
• N95 Fit Test required prior to assignment and updated annually
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
  • Flu vaccine or exemption required during flu season (10/1 – 3/31)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months
• Drug testing may be required depending on facility location
• Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start
• Skills checklist within 12 months
• Work history verification for last 2 years
• Two professional references from assignments within last 3 years

Important Notes

• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Complete and detailed work history required (including bed count, EMR, facility type)
• Orientation offered bi-weekly on Mondays
• No block scheduling allowed
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to lack of public transportation
• Must comply with facility-specific dress code and telephone usage policies

This position is ideal for RRTs with pediatric and neonatal ICU experience who are comfortable working in a teaching hospital environment and have recent Epic EMR experience.
