Job Opportunity: Behavioral Health LVN / LPN

Job Description

• Variable shifts available:

  • 07:00 - 15:30
  • 15:00 - 23:30
  • 23:00 - 07:30
• Orientation dates: May 30–31, with shifts beginning June 1
• Recent inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
• Patient population includes adults with:

  • ADHD
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Eating Disorders
  • PTSD
  • Anxiety Disorder
  • Depression / Major Depressive Disorder
  • Psychotic Disorder
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder
  • Substance Abuse Disorder
  • Alcohol or Opiate Withdrawal (usually stable on admission)
  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes
  • Geriatric patients at high fall risk
  • Patients in pain
  • Occasionally patients with wounds

Unit Details & Equipment

• Use of electronic patient rounding tools
• Rover system for taking pictures, entering vital signs, and food intake
• ObservSmart monitoring equipment

Required Certifications & Licenses

• California LVN License
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CPI or ProAct or PMAB (Crisis Prevention Institute or equivalent)

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in California
• Minimum of 1 year of Behavioral Health experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Experience working with geriatric patients
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• CPI or ProAct or PMAB certification

Additional Requirements

• Must provide full 7 years of work history with no gaps
• Employment verification required for up to 7 years
• References: 2 professional references required for clinical positions
• Completion of facility-specific documents and trainings prior to start, including:

  • Regulatory orientation
  • Standards of business conduct
  • Code of conduct
  • Vendor training
  • TB questionnaire
  • Conditional offer of employment attestation

Patient Care Focus

• Adult psychiatric inpatient care with a focus on behavioral health disorders and co-morbid medical conditions
• Emphasis on safety for high fall risk and substance withdrawal patients
• Use of technology to support patient monitoring and documentation
