Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

• Temp role in Des Moines, Iowa
• Nights shift
• 13-week contract
• Unit has 22 beds
• Patient population includes general med surg, renal, transplant, and urology
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Traveler must float across all campuses

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of Med Surg experience
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Renal PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
• Urology experience
• Transplant experience
• Experience with Epic
• Driver's License
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

• Past or current Level I trauma experience
• Professional reference / reference check from charge, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months

Scheduling / Holiday Expectations

• Must be able to work Thanksgiving
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed

• Past employees of UPH have restrictions on returning to travel assignments in another market, depending on prior employment type and timing
