Job Opportunity: Technologist - Cytotechnology
Location
- Dallas, Texas
Employment Type
- Temporary contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift, 8 hours per day
- Work week runs Wednesday through Tuesday
- Overtime and holiday pay at 1.5x
- Callback pay at 1.5x with a minimum of 2 hours per callback
- Orientation is unpaid
- Employer may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract
Job Responsibilities
- Screen Pap smears and non-gynecological slides; report results per protocol
- Review patient history in relation to screening cytology slides
- Document workload and submit weekly reports
- Review discrepant cases with Pathologist to improve patient care quality
- Maintain False Negative Proportion (FNP) within ±1-2% of lab average, not exceeding 5% overall
- Maintain 80-100% diagnostic correlation with Pathologist
- Maintain gynecological statistical analysis rates within ±5% of lab averages
- Adhere to individual workload limits based on performance appraisal
- Complete special assignments as assigned by supervisor
- Assist with Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessments in various hospital procedure areas
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist, including experience within the last year
- Registered Cytotechnologist certification through American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT-ASCP) OR International Accreditation (CT-IAC)
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field OR Master’s degree in a science-related field if Bachelor’s degree was in a non-science field
