Travel LPN/LVN Opportunity – Kansas City, Missouri

Position Details

  • Specialty: LPN/LVN
  • Location: Kansas City, MO
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
  • Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years
  • Certifications Required:
    • Missouri IV Certification (MUST HAVE)
    • ACLS
    • BLS
    • NIHSS

Unit Information

  • Unit: 4 North Cardiac Telemetry
  • Number of Beds: 29
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4
  • Staffing: Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: Full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
  • Floating Policy: Contract nurses may be floated to any area where competency is demonstrated

Required Skills and Experience

  • Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
  • Experience with post-cardiac procedural care including:
    • Ablations
    • Cardiac catheterizations
    • Post-op Day 1 Open Heart
    • Permanent pacemaker placements
  • Ability to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
  • Procedures performed on unit include:
    • IV insertions
    • NGT placement and maintenance
    • Chest tube maintenance
    • Temporary pacemakers
    • Foley insertions

  • Navy blue scrubs required
