Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III trauma center with 198 beds
• Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer, nephrology, pediatric, behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
• Nephrology unit is an extension of Med/Surg units
• Unit size: 24 beds
• Patient population: Geriatric and adults
• Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:6
• Equipment: Vital signs machine, bladder scanner, lifts, thermal imaging, IV pumps/tubes
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Nephrology
• Shift: Days (07:00 - 19:30)
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend requirement: Minimum 2 weekend shifts per month
• Call requirements: None
• Float requirements: As needed per facility needs
• Number of openings: 1

Required Qualifications

• License: RN license valid in New Mexico
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Certifications: BLS (must be AHA)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Nephrology or Med/Surg)
• Skills: Med/Surg experience required; Nephrology experience preferred but not required
• Additional: Must have at least 3.2 overall rating on skills checklist
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Observation unit experience a plus

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

• End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
• Peritoneal Dialysis
• Hemodialysis

Additional Notes

• Facility requires all staff to work at least 2 weekend shifts per month
• No call requirements
• Unit may require floating as needed
