Facility Overview

• Level II Trauma Center with 198 beds
• Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology, pediatric, inpatient behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
• Located in the scenic San Juan River Valley with many outdoor recreational opportunities

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: At least 2 weekend shifts per month recommended
• Call Requirements: None
• Unit Beds: 43
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 and 1:6
• Equipment Used: Vital signs machine, bladder scanner, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, tube feeding pumps
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Mexico
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience (preferred)
• Certifications: BLS (must be AHA certified)
• Skills: Med/Surg experience preferred; charge nurse experience preferred but not required; oncology skills helpful but not necessary
• Patient Population: Adults (18 years and older) with diagnoses such as cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, congestive heart failure (CHF)

• Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Float requirements as per facility needs
• Must have at least a 3.2 overall rating on skills checklist

Contract Length

• Approximately 26 weeks (about 6 months)
