Registered Nurse - Inpatient Rehabilitation

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting with high acuity patients.
• Work 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Weekend and holiday rotations every other weekend.
• Call requirements apply.
• Assist with patient care including helping CNAs and responding to call lights.
• May be required to float to a nearby satellite inpatient rehab facility within 20 minutes in the future.
• Use EPIC electronic health record system (minimum 13 weeks EPIC experience required).
• Work with mobility equipment such as ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards, vital machines, EKG, and blood glucose monitors.

Patient Population

• Adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation services.
• Patients with conditions such as stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other rehabilitation needs.
• High acuity similar to medical-surgical units.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in rehabilitation settings, including at least 1 year of rehabilitation experience within the last year.
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Minimum 13 weeks of experience using EPIC electronic health record system.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

• Patient ratio approximately 1:7.
• Mandatory 30-minute unpaid breaks and two 15-minute paid breaks during 12-hour shifts.
• Strict adherence to attendance and tardy policies.
• Orientation dates available throughout the year.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
