Unit Information

Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
14 Operating Rooms
70 Full-Time Staff
Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN and 1 Surgical Technologist (ST) per OR, plus Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Assistive Technicians (ATs)
Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN, 1 ST
Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1 (not guaranteed)
Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Typical Procedures

Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
Bentall procedure
Aortic Dissection repair

Responsibilities

Manage the operating room environment
Assist surgeons during procedures
Monitor vital signs
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care

Schedule

Approximately 36 hours per week
Flexibility for day and evening hours as needed
Call shifts: 1-2 shifts from 5 PM to 7 PM per week
Weekend call: 7 AM to 7 PM every 6th weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Acute care experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
