Job Overview

• Location: Independence, Missouri
• Employment type: Travel
• Schedule: 48 hours per week; every other weekend; no call
• Start date: 12/14
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Unit: 6th Floor Med-Surg/Oncology
• Patient population: Med-surg, oncology, hospice, and hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Beds: 36
• Floating: Med-Surg and Telemetry (med-surg level patients)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Oncology (1 year of experience)
• Oncology experience within the last year
• BLS

Key Responsibilities

• Wound vac changes
• Drain removal
• IV/PICC line care
• Foley insertion and removal
• NG insertion and removal

Work Environment

• Uses Meditech for documentation
• Equipment includes I-med, I-mobile, Neurons vital signs machine, glucometer, PCA, wound vac, chest tubes, and surgical drains
• Unit staffing includes clinical care coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and a unit secretary
