Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level II Trauma Center with 43 beds in the Medical Unit
• Patient population: Adults (≥18 years)
• Patient ratios: 1:5 and 1:6
• Equipment includes VS machine, bladder scanner, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, tube feeding pumps
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
• Shift: Nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend shifts: Policy recommends at least 2 per month
• Float requirements as needed by facility

Job Description

• Specialty: Medical/Surgical with Telemetry
• Common diagnoses treated: cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, congestive heart failure (CHF)
• Med/Surg experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Oncology skills helpful but not necessary

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• Option for 36 or 48 guaranteed hours
• No call requirements
• Submittal requirements include resume, submission form, competency exam, skills checklist, and screening questions
