Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Role Overview

Emergency Room RN in a 27-bed emergency department at a community hospital
Cares for both adult and pediatric patients
Night shift: 7p–7a
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
PALS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

TNCC

Other Notes

No local candidates; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility

The pay was good and the staff was reasonably supportive.

Cons

The paperwork was sometimes byzantine. They use a version of Epic that is customized to the facility. Someone is always looking over your shoulder and evaluating your fitness for the job. You have to rock that charting!
