Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Night Shift)

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced RN to work primarily in ICU units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU. The role requires ICU experience with flexibility to float to Medical Surgical units as needed. Extensive cardiac experience is required.

Required Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS/CPR, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (specialty experience in ICU and cardiac care preferred)

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient care
• Administer medications and treatments according to nursing standards, policies, and state laws
• Document care in compliance with standards of practice
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education
• Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patient care across units
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and escalate concerns appropriately

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is required for this position
• Must be willing to float between ICU and Medical Surgical units as needed
