Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical AM Shift

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Experience working with adult patients
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Experience managing nursing ratios of 1:4-6
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Fit Test: Annual N95 (3M 1860S, 1870+, or PAPR) fit test required for direct patient care, completed onsite or offsite within one week prior to start
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required before starting; second dose must be submitted within 30 days to remain compliant
  • Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required before starting; second dose must be submitted within 30 days to remain compliant
  • Hepatitis B: Series of 3, positive titer, or declination accepted; booster or declination accepted if negative/equivocal titer
  • TB Test: Completed within 30 days prior to start; QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test required; for past positives, chest X-ray within 1 year plus updated TB questionnaire
• Physical/Health Statement: Must be current within 1 year
• Drug Screen: 9-panel drug screen completed within 90 days prior to start; must be repeated with any break in service
• Influenza Vaccine: Recommended but optional; required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) with exemptions considered case-by-case

Onboarding and Testing Requirements

• Criminal Background Check: Completed within 90 days prior to start; includes 7-year county and national checks, SSN trace, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions
• Education Verification: Highest level of education verified via third party or transcripts
• Badge Photo: Recent (within 6 months) color photo with solid background, no filters or selfies
• Skills Checklist: Current and accurate checklist completed within 12 months prior to start, specific to position
• Internal Competency Checklist: To be completed within 2 weeks after start; regulatory compliance skills checklist matching permanent staff requirements
• ECG Exam: Completion of ECG exam with certificate upload required prior to start
• Annual Compliance Training: Completion of assigned compliance modules with certificate upload required; certification valid through 11/5/26
• I-9 E-Verify: Employment eligibility attestation required

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not specified as required for this position.
• Specialty or pharmacology exams are optional but recommended for RNs.
• Tdap vaccine is optional unless working with pediatric or infant populations.

This position is a 13-week long-term assignment for an RN experienced in Medical/Surgical care on the AM shift. All onboarding and health compliance requirements must be completed timely to ensure assignment start.
