MICU RN Nights & EOW

Overview

• Role: MICU RN
• Location: Salem, Massachusetts
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units
• Unit: 20-bed Level III Trauma Center ICU / MICU

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with telemetry strip interpretation
• Experience with Medical/Surgical unit floating

Unit Details

• Adult ICU caring for a wide range of patients, including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock
• Attendings and Residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day
• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Med/Surg areas
