Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Night Shift)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend, holidays
Start Date: August 2023 (candidates with last names A-L only)


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in the Emergency Room setting during night shifts.
  • Work schedule includes every other weekend and holidays.
  • Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of RN experience.
  • At least 1 year of travel nursing experience and Level 1 Emergency Room experience required.
  • Valid RN license for Massachusetts (Primary Source Verification required; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred).
  • Must pass a medication exam with at least 80% within the past year.
  • Completion of a skills checklist within the past year.
  • Fit testing for N95 respirator within 365 days prior to start date (no exemptions allowed).
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test is required.
  • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR).
  • TB screening documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if there is a break longer than 6 months.
  • Physician health statement signed within 365 days of start date.
  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry checks.
  • Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days prior to start and annually.
  • Verification of highest level of education achieved.
  • Social Security Number trace covering the last 7 years.
  • Two professional references within the last 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher.
  • Resume including 7 years of work experience with city and state details.
  • Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any extensions.

Additional Requirements

  • Positive PPD results require a negative chest X-ray dated after the positive test.
  • TB symptom survey if positive PPD (optional but recommended).
  • Name change documentation if legal name differs from credential documents.
  • Candidate submission coversheet required for initial assignment.
  • Attestation form completed after registration in the credentialing system.

Notes

  • Candidates with last names M-Z should refer to a separate order.
  • No fit testing or updates can be done onsite; must be completed prior to start.
  • Fit test updates can be done on-site only if extending assignment on certain islands due to limited resources.

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs with prior travel nursing experience seeking a night shift role in a major metropolitan hospital setting.
