Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Cooperstown, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Operating Room with 12 suites
• Average daily case volume: 25–30 cases
• Primary case types: General Surgery and Orthopedics
• Additional service lines include Plastics, Neuro, Vascular, ENT, GYN, Urology, GI, Pain Management, Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular hybrid cases, and Podiatry

Role Expectations

• Provide nursing care in the Operating Room setting
• Support multiple surgical service lines as needed
• Maintain strong foundational OR skills to safely manage a variety of case types
• Take call approximately 4–5 shifts per month; flexibility required due to case variety
• No expectation to assist in other departments unless prior experience exists
• Comfortable working with a broad range of OR equipment and devices

Shift

• 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not specified as required
• Call frequency averages 4–5 shifts per month, requiring flexibility
• Extensive vendor presence and equipment variety across service lines
