Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Location: Round Rock, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 06:45 AM – 07:15 PM


Job Summary

  • Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans; observe, record, and communicate patient conditions.
  • Coordinate care among all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
  • Execute physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
  • Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

  • Professional resume/profile submission required.
  • Two professional references required prior to first assignment.
  • Nursys license verification and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other relevant screenings within 90 days prior to start.
  • Employment and education verifications required.
  • Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists prior to or shortly after start, with periodic updates every 1-3 years.
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, and others within one year of start and updated every 3 years.
  • Health and immunization requirements including:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted).
    • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted).
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted).
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
    • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (declinations accepted with mask requirement).
    • Tuberculosis screening with 2-step PPD or IGRA testing and annual TB questionnaire.
    • Fit testing for respiratory protection, updated annually.
    • Annual physical exam or statement of good health.
    • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.

Additional Notes

  • Must be able to work the specified day shift hours.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-stress ICU environment is essential.
  • Personal protective equipment use and infection control compliance are mandatory.

This position is suitable for experienced ICU Registered Nurses who meet licensure and certification requirements and are prepared for a long-term assignment in a critical care setting.
