Position Details

Job Title: Registered Nurse
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Facility: Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center
Hospital System: Novant Health Crisis Response
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Unit Type: Overflow unit for winter census in ED holding.
Patient Diagnoses: General Surgery and Medical Tele, including cardiac telemetry and various diagnoses requiring medical intervention or surgical procedures.
Daily Census: Approximately 18 patients.
Target Ratios: 1:6-7.

Shift Details

Schedule: 4 x 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715) from Friday to Monday.
Float Requirement: Floating as needed to similar units.
Weekend Schedule: Required to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Required Skills and Certifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience or 1 year with travel experience. First-time travelers are accepted.
Skills: IV Start and Telemetry.
Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)

Orientation and Training

Unit Orientation: 24 hours of orientation.
Scrubs: Navy Blue.

Additional Information

Internal Notes: Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
Documentation Required:
- Various accounting documents (e.g., W4, I9, photo ID)
- Certifications (e.g., ACLS, BLS)
- Health documents (e.g., TB test, flu vaccination)
- Background checks and history verifications.

Competencies

Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for specific RN specialties.
