Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

• Hours per week: 48
• Contract length: 26 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 3 years of experience in high-acuity, high-pace environments
• 2 years of experience in high-risk obstetric environments
• Ability to circulate in the operating room
• Ability to provide newborn care including eye care, Vitamin K injections, thigh assessments, and newborn assessments
• Ability to function as baby nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Post Partum experience
• Antepartum experience
• Maternal - Newborn experience

Certifications

• BLS
• NRP

Preferred Certifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Unit Details

• High-risk, high-volume labor and delivery unit
• May float to postpartum, antepartum, and sister facilities that do mother/baby
• Uses electronic fetal monitoring
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Pre-approved time off is reviewed case by case
• First-time travelers are accepted

Additional Notes

• EPIC experience is required
• Candidates must pass clinical review
