Our story starts with a 21-year-old CNA named Pete Hietpas. Pete was diligently working in eastern Wisconsin with a variety of staffing agencies, but something was missing. He loved caring for his patients, but felt that staffing agencies were exchanging compassion for competitiveness. He was determined to change that. As a result, he started Nurses PRN in 1995 to become a model for the healthcare staffing industry – being competitive in the marketplace, yet still maintaining a compassionate heart. Over the years Nurses PRN grew and evolved as a nationwide healthcare staffing company, and therefore wanted to be more inclusive to all valued healthcare professionals: nurses, allied health, locum tenens, CNAs, and more. This lead to the introduction of PRN Healthcare, which is inclusive of Nurses PRN and all of our other healthcare divisions. Our mission to create authentic, meaningful relationships with our healthcare professionals helps us set them up for success in their dream assignment, whether that be a travel contract, local contract, or per diem shift. Join our team as an ICU Registered Nurse in Marrero, LA, where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of patients requiring critical care. We are seeking dedicated professionals with a passion for healthcare and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
 <li>Provide nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
 </li><li>Manage patients with neuro/stroke, vascular surgeries, multi-level back surgeries, and general critical care conditions.
 </li><li>Utilize special equipment including vents, EVD management, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, bolts/ICP O2 monitoring, and CRRT.
 </li><li>Perform special procedures such as fresh post-op craniotomies, vent settings, A-lines, central lines, NIH evaluations, and HD (managed by dialysis staff).
</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
 <li>2 years of experience as an ICU Registered Nurse.
 </li><li>Epic experience is required.
 </li><li>Limited neuro experience at the least.
 </li><li>Weekend requirement: Yes, every other weekend.
 </li><li>Float requirement: Yes, will float between SCU, NCU, and CCU, and may float to ED for care of CC admits.
 </li><li>Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, &amp; NIH (CPI can be obtained at the facility once started for $100).
 </li><li>Scrubs: Navy required.
