ICU Nurse

Overview

• Contract length: 8 weeks

Role Details

• ICU assignment with a 1:2 patient ratio, sometimes flexing to 1:3
• May float to all ICUs, and may also float to the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients there
• May occasionally float to MS/PCU units with 1:4 patient ratios
• Nurses perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
• Must be able to care for isolation patients, including potential COVID-19 patients
• Weekends required
• Call not required
• Float required
• RTO limited to 5 days total

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Additional Notes

• CPI may be completed onsite if not already certified
• Candidate should know their N95 mask size
