Overview
- Travel/contract role in Charlotte, North Carolina
- Outpatient oncology clinic setting
- Adults and geriatrics
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Local candidates accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Oncology experience with 2 years of experience
- Oncology experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ONS/ONCC
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Clinic experience
- Experience with Epic
Key Responsibilities
- Field patient calls and messages related to cancer diagnosis and treatment, medications, chemotherapy side effects, lab and radiology results
- Manage patient schedules, referrals, and orders as directed by the provider
Skills and Clinical Experience
- Biotherapy and immunotherapy side effect management
- Chemotherapy administration and abnormal lab value recognition
- IV therapy and infusion skills, including port access and central line care
- Oncology emergency response
- Pain management
- Foley catheter management, isolation and neutropenic precautions, phlebotomy, and wound care
- Psychosocial support, advanced directives, hospice care, and patient/family education
- Symptom management for common oncology-related issues
- Post-surgical care
Schedule and Work Conditions
- No call
- No weekends
- Floating required on Fridays to another clinic location
- RTO after booking is not allowed
- 7 days of RTO maximum for the 13-week assignment
- Nurse must bring their own stethoscope
Additional Notes
- EPIC is required
- Navy blue scrubs are required and not provided
- Unit orientation is brief, about 2 to 3 hours
