Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Newark, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses with experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and Newborn Nursery. The RN will independently provide comprehensive care across all phases of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.


Work Schedule

  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend Coverage: Rotating, every other weekend
  • On Call: Required
  • Floating: Required within skillset

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Experience in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and Nursery
  • Experience working with Neonate and Maternal-Fetal patients
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NRP certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide care in all phases of maternal and newborn care: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn nursery
  • Manage low and high-risk maternal care depending on experience
  • Participate in floating assignments within skillset

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, national sex offender registry, education verification, and eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
  • Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
  • Completion of health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of contract signing

Additional Requirements

  • On-call availability
  • Rotating weekend coverage
  • Floating as needed within skillset
  • References and employment verification as required by agency

Notes

  • Candidates must be prepared to complete all health and compliance documentation promptly after contract acceptance.
  • Facility-specific onboarding modules and attestations will be required.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized OB nursing role with a focus on comprehensive maternal and newborn care in a travel/contract capacity.
