Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Honesdale, Pennsylvania

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide care in OB (Labor and Delivery and Mother Baby units).
• No block scheduling; work every other weekend and holiday.
• Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, totaling 36 hours/week).
• No call requirements.
• Must be able to care for laboring mothers as well as postpartum mother and baby.
• EMR system used: Meditech.
• ASAP start.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year.
• Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients and Maternal-Newborn care.
• Certifications required:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background checks within 1 year, including SS Trace, County searches (7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender registry; updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific protocols if past positive).
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap every 10 years.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or vaccination per birth year guidelines).
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series).
  • Varicella immunity (titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox).
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
  • COVID vaccination card or declination (initial vaccine required, seasonal not mandatory).

  • 11-panel drug screen within 7 days prior to start.

• Professional references:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles.
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care roles.
• Annual competency exams and skills checklist as applicable.
• Emergency contact form required prior to start.
