Overview
- Location: Portland, Oregon
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
- Weekly hours: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Setting: Short-term acute care
- Bed size: 418 staffed beds
Schedule and assignment details
- Floating between units may be required based on unit needs.
- On-call may be required if a shift is not available.
- Every other weekend is required.
- Block scheduling is not required.
- 48-hour shifts are not approved.
- Expected patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:3 couplets.
- A vehicle is required for this assignment.
- If floated consecutively, hotel lodging may be offered at additional cost.
Required qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon.
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience.
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Driver's License.
- Current NURSYS verification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification.
- Current NRP certification.
- Current CHEMO certification.
- Current EFM certification.
- Current IV certification.
- Current Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification.
- Current NIH Stroke certification.
- Current CPI certification.
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam, as applicable.
- Competency exam, as applicable.
- Skills checklist, as applicable.
- Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment total within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment application with at least the last 5 years of employment.
- Background check.
- Education verification.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask clearance.
- Negative TB or chest X-ray.
- Tdap within 10 years.
- Rubeola, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella, flu, COVID, and respirator safety clearance documentation as required by the assignment.
Work environment notes
- Travelers may be required to float to other units and facilities to meet staffing needs.
- Epic is used for charting.
